A local community group, Leeds Skyrack Lions, have donated money to a worthy Holt Park cause.

The Skyrack Lions have donated £1000 toward IT equipment for Holt Park based charity OPAL (Older People’s Action in the Locality). The Lions presented the money towards the end of May.

The money will be very beneficial to OPAL in helping the elderly across LS16.

Ailsa Rhodes from OPAL said: “This support from the Lions has helped with much needed new I.T. kit and a database. This will benefit the community as we will be better able to support the over 60’s to live safe, healthy and independent lives without isolation”

The Skyrack Lions are part of the International Lions Organisation which currently has 1.3 million members in over 46,000 clubs in 205 countries. Their aim is to work together to answer the needs of local communities.

The Skyrack Lions saw OPAL as an important cause in the community and worthy of the donation. Leeds Skyrack Lions President, Bob Carter, said: “Lions members thank everyone who contributed towards this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference within our community.”
