There has been one reported burglary incident this past week. This occurred on Cookridge Grove between 18:20- 23:00 hrs on 18/01/13. Offender/s gained entry to the property by smashing the rear patio doors. Once inside they smashed through the lower half of the internal wooden door enabling them to enter the property. An untidy search was made and property as well as two sets of vehicle keys were stolen. Offender/s have then used one set of keys and stolen a vehicle that was parked on the driveway.

Anything Else of Note
A male has been arrested and charged for handling stolen goods from the burglary that occurred on Cookridge Grove on the evening of 18th January. Enquires are still ongoing.

Once again Cookridge has been the victim of a Hanoi burglary. This is the name we give to an occurrence where a burglary has been committed and subsequently a vehicle has been stolen. Please can we remind you all once again to make sure your vehicle keys are well and truly hidden and are not just thrown on a worktop or hung on a hook at the side of the door for example. Unfortunately owners of high valued vehicles are targeted and by not keeping keys hidden, it becomes an easy find for offenders.

Please again look at your home security and consider if anything needs updating. West Yorkshire Police work along side a company called CASAC who offer a free no obligation security assessment. If you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact them on 0845 519 2122. The implementation of anti snapping locks is also recommended. If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
