Two initiatives from across Holt Park have been shortlisted for the Leeds Community Stars Awards with the public able to decide the winner.
The Leeds Community Stars awards are designed to recognise the hard work and community spirit of individuals and groups from across Leeds.
In the “Best Community Initiative” category the Holt Park Entrance Project has been nominated for the award. The Entrance Project saw the regeneration of a corner of the Holtdales with flower planting and the creation of footpaths. The Holt Park initiative is up against projects from Billing View and Swarcliffe.
The second nomination comes under the “Green Initiative” category and is for the Holt Park Recycling Scheme. The £48,000 scheme has helped to make Holt Park a greener area with the increase of recycling and the reduction of fly-tipping in the area. Holt Park is nominated alongside a project in Middleton.
To help Holt Park come out on top you can vote free of charge for these two initiatives. Voting can be done by simply texting the word STAR followed by the number of the project you want to vote for 80800. The entrance project is STAR 11 and the Recycling project is STAR 16.
To vote for both projects two separate texts must be sent. The closing date for votes is 2nd July at 12pm.
