The zebra crossing will be placed along with 9 others across Leeds in order to makes the roads around the city safer.

These areas have been identified as part of Leeds City Council’s annual pedestrian crossing review. From the review requests for new crossings by the public and local councillors are considered.

The crossing, which is being funded by the Local Transport Plan, is set to be completed before April 2011.

This is good that the crossing is being put in but one of the most dangerous places to cross holtdale approach is outside the highfield surgery near the phone box and this is where we need a crossing

    Hi Jan

Thank you for using the comments to express your concerns.

We got the information about this crossing from Councillor Barry Anderson, he is wanting people to feed back to him on the proposed crossing plans

In his e-mail he sent us he said

“Following investigations, the last Pedestrian Crossing Review supported the need for a new zebra crossing outside Ralph Thoresby High School on Holtdale Approach. I would be grateful if you could consider the proposal and comment on it if appropriate. I am also consulting with the emergency services, Metro and the school at this time.”

I am sure he would greatly appreciate your feed back. You can e-mail Councillor Barry Anderson on barry.anderson53@yahoo.co.uk or Barry.Anderson@leeds.gov.uk.
