The open day, which takes place Saturday 10th September 11am – 3pm, will play host to a heap of fun and free events all with a criminal twist.

There will be crime scene investigation activities, a chance to explore emergency vehicles along with a bouncy castle and face-painting and much more. In an attempt to top the last open day in 2009 there will be displays and shows, one of which from a Sikh martial arts company.

As well as all this there will be the opportunity to meet your local Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT) officers.

NPT officers operate the North West Outer area of Leeds looking after a wide range of areas including Adel, Arthington, Bramhope, Pool, Cookridge, Guiseley, Holt Park, Horsforth, Otley, Rawdon and Yeadon.

Inspector Richard Coldwell, who heads the North West Outer team said: “These events give us the opportunity to get to know even more local people face-to-face in a more relaxed environment. It’s a valuable opportunity for people to discuss any issues they have and learn about the work we are doing every day to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.”

Otley Police Station is located on Bridge Street in the heart of the market town.

“The event will also be a great day out for all the family and I would encourage people to come along with their kids and enjoy themselves.” added Inspector Coldwell.

Otley can easily be reached on a Saturday morning from Holt Park and surrounding areas. The number 940 leaves from Holt Park Shopping Centre from the top bus stop.

Alternatively the X84 bus, operated by First, stops on Otley Road outside Cranberry’s Cafe and Woodends Butchers just up from the Natwest bank. First buses offer a family and friends dayrider ticket which can hold up to 5 people for £7, perfect for a family day out.
