It may be the summer holidays, but the students of Ralph Thoresby High School are having their work recognised in the Wharfedale Festival of Drama and bringing home with them a vast number of awards.
The annual school productions at Ralph Thoresby School are fast gaining
recognition across our local communities.
This year, the school produced a slick performance of ‘GREASE’ to 4 nights of
sell out audiences. The final night was said to be particularly enjoyable for our audience,
with a sing-a-long version and the front of house offering an atmosphere of a
period designed American diner offering doughnuts, popcorn and cola.
The audience joined in the singing and acted their favourite roles from the
musical without having to take the major step of standing on stage.
The production was entered into the Wharfedale Festival of Drama and won the
following awards
- Best Overall Production (Youth & Schools)
- The Innovation Trophy (for a singalong performance of Grease)
- Best Musical Director – Steve Hackshaw
- Festival Chairman’s Special Award for the inspired American Diner themed
- The Front of House Ambience award
foyer and hospitality
Many of the cast picked up personal performance awards, notably
Outstanding Performance awards
Certificates of Merit
- Daniel Donnell
- Joe Collins
- Molly Mesher
- Shelley Horne
Ralph Thoresby High School would like to thank all audience members for joining us and making the show a real success. Hope to see you next year.
