Abbey Runners established 30 years ago by a group of like minded runners in North Leeds, and now numbering over 150 members of all ages and abilities (including a thriving Juniors section) recently moved to Holt Park Active.

“We are extremely excited about moving to Holt Park Active, not least being the first facilities at such a great location said Martin Browne Club President. “We believe that our new home offers tremendous opportunities for both Abbey Runners and Holt Park Active. We’ve even refreshed our Club logo to mark both the move and our 20th year anniversary.”

“Our aim is to engage with as many people in the locality as possible and to do so now with a club the size and stature of Abbey Runners is exceptionally pleasing” said Mark Robinson Holt Park Active Manager.

Abbey Runners organise a number of races every year, including the popular Eccup 10. “In the last 10 years the Clubs flagship race has raised over £20,000 for local charities including Sue Ryder (Wheatfields), the Sylvia Wright Trust and Hollybank.

Abbey Runners train Tuesday evening and every second Thursdays from Holt Park Active at 7.30pm. See abbeyrunners.co.uk for more details or contact them here
