The delegation that travelled to London earlier this week to present their appeal for the Holt Park Wellbeing Centre were pleased with the way the meeting went.

MP Greg Mullholland along with Leeds City Councillors and officials met with Chief Secretary of the Treasury Danny Alexander.

Mr Mullholland said: “I was pleased that the delegation had the chance to make the case for the Holt Park Wellbeing Centre to the Chief Secretary. He was impressed by the case we made and certainly now understands the importance of this to the area. We will now be putting our case to health ministers and also hope we can convince them that this important project must go ahead.”

The delegation now plan to take their case to the Department of Health in the hope the Wellbeing Centre will be given theby go ahead once more.

Part of the delegation was Cllr Barry Anderson of Adel and Wharfedale, he said: We appeared to answer all of his questions in the detailed case we put before him [Mr Alexander]. The next stage is convincing the Secretary of State for Health of the merits of our case.”

Further feedback about the well being center will be decided in the spending review on 20th of October.
