Increase of Graffiti in Holt Park

An outbreak of offensive graffiti has emerged in Holt Park.

The graffiti has been sprayed in the usual problem area, at the rear of the Holt Park Leisure Centre.

The graffiti, which contains sexual references and may offend many, is a cause for concern as it is near to public locations such as Kids Academy, Holt Park Library and Ralph Thoresby School.

Anyone visiting the area would not take interpret Holt Park with a positive first reaction.

The graffiti has been reported to Leeds City Council. However, due to the recent severe weather it is unlikely they will be able to respond with the high standard of service, of removing graffiti within 24 hours.

The Holt Park Tenants and Residents Association who do their best to maintain and promote the area are aggrieved by the offensive form of graffiti.

Alan Mann, Chair of the association said: “This type of graffiti has to be stamped out, and the perpetrators if located should be given restorative justice.”
